Sometimes, Apple’s Mac vs. PC ads go a little bit over the top. This is not the case with the recent release of two christmas ads. These are hilarious. I urge you to watch them both.

I Just Bought My Dream Computer

I have just bought a 2.8 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro… My dream computer.

Only about two years ago, I got my first mac. At that time, I never dreamed of buying a $3000 computer, nor dreamed of having the money. Now, the only thing I can think of that would be worth spending my money on is a new MacBook Pro.

With the money I have made from selling my iPhone apps, the little money from blog advertising and a few past holiday gifts from relatives, I am able to get my dream computer. Oh, and that little thing called student discount helped a bit also.

Now when I say “dream computer,” I am not thinking of some magical computer that I “dream” of. I am thinking of the computer that I have always wanted since I got my MacBook, but has never been able to get. Finally, now that I can make my own source of income, I am able to purchase this amazingly powerful machine.

This is sort of an investment. Hopefully, this MacBook Pro will allow me to do things that I could not do with my MacBook and therefore, will in the end, make me more money. So, instead of spending the money I had on a tempurpedic mattress (was actually thinking about it, believe it or not) I can invest in something that may actually bring the money back to me.

Anyway, I am extremely happy I was able to buy this wonderful device and I cannot wait until it reaches my doorstep and I can watch that awesome welcome movie.

Here are the specs:

iPhone Spaces An Amazing Idea

Spaces for the iPhone…

Satpal Sharma came up with an amazing idea and prototype for spaces on the iPhones. If you look at his flash prototype, you will see how cool this would be.

Simply click and hold the empty space in the right corner and spaces comes up. Here you will see all of your screens. From there you can move icons from one space to another or move one whole space (screen) to another spot. So lets say I want to move all my apps on the last page to the third page, instead of moving all the icons one by one, I can move them all at once, with spaces.

This is one of those things that you know Apple will not make, but you hope a developer will release a version for jailbroken iPhones.

NewsFire Coming to the iPhone

The creator of NewsFire, David Watanabe, posted a blog post featuring the icon of NewsFire on the iPhone.

Even though the post doesn’t give any details and is just a teaser, it is obvious that NewsFire is coming to the app store. To me, this is awesome news (no pun intended).

NewsFire has always been the one and only mac RSS reader and I am really excited to see it come to the app store. Right now, I do not feel there is any real good RSS application in the app store worth buying, but I really think NewsFire will be the one I get.

Can’t wait.

Apple Admits Their Misleading iPhone 3G Ads

I made a video a few months ago about Apple’s misleading iPhone ads, in which I showed exactly how the editing process was done. Well, it seems as though Apple has recognized everyones complaint and have changed their ads.

In the latest iPhone ad, “Dilemmas,” you can see that in the first few seconds of the ad there is some text at the bottom that reads, “Sequence shortened.”

Just goes to show you that Apple actually reads feedback about them online. I am glad they fixed their mistake.

NetFlix Rolls Out Watch Instantly For Macs!

This is huge news! Netflix has recently posted on their blog about their online movie player that is compatible with macs. Out in beta, the new movie play need Microsoft’s Silverlight.

This is an easy install and works very well with the NetFilx movie play. While Silverlight seems like is weird solution to this problem, obviously it works, so who cares!

As a NetFlix subscriber, this changes everything. I no longer have to have every movie sent to me. Now, I can just press play and watch my movies in good quality, right on my computer. I am psyched. Here are some screenshots of the new player:
